Final Quiz 5

I can't believe that the term has come to an end.  But looking back I am proud of myself for taking this course, especially in the summer. This course has been nice because it has outlined everything in the syllabus that we read.  Although the reading was not my favorite thing to do, I did enjoy the group work together. That really helped me get more of an understanding what was going on. But this class has taught me a lot more of History than I had ever known about History. Especially learning about the beginning of history. History has always bored me, but learning about interesting things from this book has actually helped me understand why some things are the way the still are.

I've learned more about religion which is great because it gives me a background on my next class in the fall, "religions of the world". Blogging is a great way to go about remembering what you read as well. Having a hard time reading and remembering, blogging will totally help you with some of that.  It's a great tool that I never used before, but am glad that we learned in this class. Having the opportunity to do a research paper on something I enjoyed learning about was great. It gave me a chance to learn more about my dad and more about my heritage and why he worked so hard as we were growing up.

The paper on Putin was a little too confusing for me. It went back and forth a little too much for me and really got me lost. Have the quiz's almost every week almost gave me a heart attack, because it added stress on top of the reading, but it was definitely better than having one big test at the end of the course. The day the class was divided between women and men was very interesting. But I really enjoyed that. Some of the men were not being really fair, but it showed how women were treated back in the day, and how women are treated still today. Although the women were hushed and quiet they still rose on top. That was a great experience. The group activities that Ms. Andrews had were a great way to keep a 4 hour class together and awake until 10pm.

Reflection # 7

The next chapters go over how the first world war came about and the significance of it happening  to have a good control of power that the U.S. has today because of it. This war was described as a very gory fight, and was literally a blood bath because of all the deaths.  Because of this war the U.S. signed the Treaty of Versailles. But this caused many changes  that then took charge and place everywhere.  After the world war the great depression took place and the market crashed. People didn't have any money and everything that they had saved up for was gone and many were left without a cent. Because of all this WWII was created by the Nazi and a very powerful man named Adolf Hitler.  The Germans soon took over and started my invading Poland.  They killed many people and sent Jews out to die in camps or trains. It was really sad to hear about the stories on how these people died. The end of WWII finally ended in 1945. Globalization in this book also explained how the world has grown over time by big numbers and how we continuously keep on growing with population growth.

Reflection 6

During the next chapters of the year 1450-1750, major changes happened. all of the European colonies from Spain, Portuguese, French and Dutch and British were developed in the new land across the Atlantic Ocean and new major changes in all of their societies. There was a lot of diversity that came with this with different cultures. The empires though in the Americas were a lot different though. The European people wanted to extend their access to better commerce and expand by setting out for maritime expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. They then settled in the eastern coast of North America, Brazil, they conquest the Aztecs and the Inca Empires as well. By doing this the Europeans took over land. advanced in their food supply in agriculture, and developed new societies. Later on commerce became a key element in globalization.  This helped with all the international trading in slaves, fur, spices and silver.  But with all of this came unfairness, inequality and abuse. This all then to Christian globalization that were a result of the European tradition that were brought to the Americas. This became a strong influence on their societies.
